Panel One—Toward an Electronic Mortgage Market: Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO) representatives discuss their organizations' roles in moving the industry toward the "paperless mortgage."

Panel Two—Federal Trade Commission Study of the ESIGN Consumer Consent Process and the Department of Education ESIGN Electronic Loan Standards.  Representatives from the FTC will discuss the Commission’s April workshop on the benefits and burdens of the process mandated by the ESIGN Act for obtaining consumer consent to the use of e-signatures and e-records, and about marketing and advertising on the internet.  Ronald Sann of the Department of Education will discuss the development of standards for electronic student loans.
