Upcoming Electronic Financial Forum Teleconference:

  • JULY 17, 2003--Introduction to SPeRS
    Speakers:

    Discussion will walk participants through the soon to be released Standards for Electronic Records and Signatures (SPeRS). SPeRS is a cross industry initiative to establish commonly understood “rules of the road” for using and accepting electronic records and signatures. Creation of the SPeRS will:

    • Permit businesses to establish a common understanding with vendors concerning design parameters for routine functions, without having to develop detailed custom specifications,
    • Assist in establishing industry standards for commercially reasonable, enforceable processes, and
    • Provide the customer with a “common experience” across various online transactions, increasing the customer’s comfort level with the electronic transaction.

    SPeRS members include: Adobe, AIG, Charles Schwab, Dell Financial Services, Fannie Mae, GE Mortgage, Harland Financial, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Principal Financial Group, TIAA-CREF, Verisign, Wells Fargo and Zions Bancorporation. For a complete list of members and more information on SPeRS visit www.spers.org.

  • AUGUST 21, 2003--Privacy, Identity Theft and SPAM
    Speakers: To Be Announced

    A roundtable discussion with representatives from Congress, the Administration and representative trade associations. Discussion will focus on:

    • Federal and state legislative initiatives;
    • The Administration’s framework for identity theft legislation; and
    • Reauthorization of the Fair Credit Reporting Act
